Trailer - Prison Dancer: The Interactive Web Musical

Perhaps this video will become a viral hit on coming days so I’m posting the trailer of the Prison Dancer: The Interactive Web Musical. It has 12 episodes web series that will debut on March 2012.

It all started way back year 2009 when the prisoners from the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center became famous for dancing to Michael Jackson tunes. It became a viral hit after performing the zombie dance from Jackson's "Thriller" that gained more than 45 million views.

Happy Yipee Yehey will be axed soon?

There is inside report that Happy Yipee Yehey will be off aired soon. Reports said that the axed show will be replaced by Showtime. Also, Rico J. Puno, on today’s episode in Happy Yipee Yehey, told the press to stop writing about the issue. He noted that the press should not lead the decision of the network.

Charice for Preview and Jinkee Pacquiao for Mega

Good job to Preview Magazine for transforming Charice to a real chic. Though on the bad side, this picture has been creating a buzz because some say that the picture undergoes hard core photoshop enhancement. Charice is the cover girl for Preview magazine January 2012 issue.

Look there’s more. Another cover girl that is creating a stir is Jinkee Pacquiao for Mega Magazine. I must admit, she looks stunning in that picture. She really looks like a doll. Thanks to Photoshop magic!

KC Conception will host X-Factor Philippines

KC Conception was chosen to host X-Factor Philippines. She revealed that she is excited to visit the actual live audition of each region in the Philippines. No official announcement has been made yet of who will serve as Judges of the show. X-Factor Philippines will start in the second quarter of 2012.

MMFF 2011 Box Office Result - Day 1

Anyway, the MMFF 2011 has just started yesterday, December 25, 2011, so allow me to post some updates here of what movie is making big in the box-office. This is just a partial result:

It’s sad that the film Manila Kingpin, despite the Graded A rating from the Cinema Evualtion Board, they are not getting fare result in the box office standing.

Melanie Amaro wins X-Factor USA

She deserved it! Melanie Amaro is the first X-Factor USA winner. Chris Rene came in third while Josh Krajcik falls to second place. She bags $5 million dollar recording contract and a starring role in a Pepsi commercial.

Melanie falls to her knees when was announced the winner of X-Factor USA.

Krizza Neri is GMA-7’s Protégé

Krizza Neri from Cagayan de Oro won the final battle for the Protégé, an original reality singing competition in GMA 7 besting Lirah Bermudez of Iloilo City and Lovely Embuscado of Davao City. She was proclaimed the winner as she garnered the highest text votes among the three of them. She has been my favorite protégé so I’m quite relieved when she was announced as the winner the fact that everybody is rooting for Lovely Embuscado, who also received a Texters Choice award and Biggest Break Award that night.

The touching part of it was when Krizza tearfully announced that she wants to share her price to Lovely as she thinks Lovely needs the money the most. She receives 1 million peso cash, 2 – bedroom condo unit and a 5-year contract with GMA Artist Center.

My PBB Unlimited Audition Experience

I saw in the recent episode of PBB Unlimited that there will be another season of PBB Teen Edition so I think it’s just relevant that I would write my own PBB experience.

As requested by an anonymous reader, I'll write my own PBB experience. The audition venue took place at one of the mall in Tagum City so I have no choice but to go there. Since I have own motorcycle, transportation becomes no hindrance to me and I can go anytime there or leave the audition place. I went there by myself because I don’t want anybody to know that I was actually planning to audition. Hahahaha.

I arrived at the mall around 6:00 AM and there were hundreds of auditioner s already waiting outside. The good thing on that audition is that you meet a lot of people and eventually befriended them. In sea of people like that you really have to expect at lot of outrageous behavior, acts and specially “outfits”. It was loud, noisy and what is unbearable is that you have to endure the scorching heat of the sun. It was already 9:00 AM when Lauren T. Dyogi went outside holding a megaphone and greeted us. The crowd goes wild. They have started giving audition number which we have to stick to our shirt. The crowds’ population gets bigger and bigger and if I’m not mistaken there were thousands of people who auditioned that day.

It was the longest waiting I’ve had in my life. The event was not organized. They have started giving numbers at 9:00 AM and it’s already 2 or 3 in the afternoon when I got mine. Receiving your audition number does not mean that you can go now inside. Again, coz there were thousands of auditioners, it was already  past midnight that I was able to face their production staff.

First, they will provide you a sheet where you have fill in your information. Also, you have to sign a contract that you agreed to appear to their show or a permission that they will show footages of yours in their program, etc., etc.

They will arrange you in a line with 10 persons and they will usher you to a room filled with cameras. Using a microphone, each of you is ask with one same question. Our question was, is there a person in our home or boarding house that we're  not in good terms with.

I answered “Yes” but I didn’t explained further and I passed the microphone immediately to the person next to me. I haven’t supported my answer because I was nervous or maybe because I couldn’t just say anything.  Looking back, I could have created a scene when I had the spotlight or at least expound further my answer. But I didn’t.

I did not make it to that round.

I headed home depressed, tired, and sleepy. Oh, by the way, they will tell you right in that moment that you didn’t pass the audition.  They will give you an option of whether you return the audition number to them or keep it as a souvenir.

I handed back my audition number.

She (PBB staff) even joked at me if I was angry and I told her “No”, with all smiles, but I’m actually bitter. Hahahaha.

If you are planning to audition for PBB, as I believe there will be more seasons to come, here are some tips I can offer.

1. Go to the venue as early as possible.
2. Bring your ID and birth certificate.
3. Bring a lot of food and water.
4. Bring an umbrella.
5. Be yourself. They are not looking for a good looking man or a beautiful face there (though it can be your advantage) but it’s your personality really or your attitude that makes you standout from others. I once overheard a joke from a gay transsexual a few meters away and she/he said this out loud, “Wala na, pagwapahay na daw ni kay gabii na kaayo. Wala nay time. Katung mga chaka pauliun na daw.” Hahahaha. I can’t help but to laugh while other gets affected to it by saying “Tinuod? Hala oi, sure?” I even heard someone saying "Hahay, kapuya pud diay aning gusto ta mag-artista oi". Hahahaha. Really, it was a good experience.
6. Be truthful to your answer. They will know if you are lying or not. They are bunch of psychologist anyway. 
7.  Do not expect anything.

Chasing my dream- My X-Factor Philippines Audition

I'm a long time X-Factor avid fan. Hahaha. Guess what? I auditioned for the X-Factor Philippines.. Hahahaha. I never thought that I would have the guts to do such since I'm very shy person and has no self-confidence. I marked November 7, 2011 and went early to audition venue. Nope. I'm not gonna say my audition piece because it's so shameful to tell and besides I had regrets why I'd pick that song.

So I went there early. By the way, I haven't told anybody until today. When I got to the place, there were about ten or more people already waiting outside the gym and most of them are gays. After a long hours waiting, they finally opened the gym and I fall in line to get my number. That time there were more than 200 people who auditioned and I got the number 056. The X-Factor staff will provide you an information sheet where you have to fill in your name, address, title of the song, etc. At the back of the sheet, there were several personal questions about your family background, ambition, why did you join the show, etc. Contrary to what you have seen on TV, there were no celebrity judges. We were entertained by a mere production staff only. In the sheet, it was stated that you have to undergo THREE levels of auditions. I'm not sure though if the LIVE audition is already included in the three stages that was labeled in the sheet. Imagine? You have to go through rigorous auditions before you make it even to the LIVE audition? Before the sing-off started, we were told not to wait anymore for the result but instead they will be the one to call us back if we made it to the first audition.

There were no judges at that time because we have been told to sing in front of a camera. The staff keeps signaling to smile in front of it. I gave the camera a smirk.We are only allowed to sing 2 minutes.

I was so NERVOUS. The feeling is indescribable. The fact that it was my first time to sing in front of the public specially in a gymnasium. Even up to now, I still can't believe why I did such kind foolishness. That moment marks a lot of my first.

1.) First time to sing in public.

2.) First time to join a singing competition.

3.) First time to go to Digos City proper. Yeah, I auditioned in Digos City because I thought that nobody could identify me there.

I almost passed out when it's my turn to sing. OMG! I was told to stand in front of the camera.

Smile! Smile!, that jerk staff exclaimed.

But no I didn't. Or did I even hear him saying that? All I know is that I was so nervous. I'm sweating all over my body. The music started and I gave my best shot. And so  I sing, sing sing...

Not that I can sing well but I thought I really did great. The feeling after I sang was liberating. To tell you honestly, I was craving for more. I'm wanting it. I'm not  a good a singer but all I know is that I can carry a tune. But the hell I care!

I was glad because sometimes while I was walking, people recognized me and they would extend their congratulation to me. AHAHAHAHA. Ewwwwwwwwww. I swear I really don't know why they would do that. I really don't know. Well, you cannot judge my performance because you are not there nor I am coz I'm bias.

If you ask me if I'm waiting for the call back? Of course, I am. But mind you, there were so many good talents there who can sing better than me so I'm only hopeful and not expecting at all. It was a good try though. I know that if you want to go farther then you have to start somewhere. It won't kill you at all.  If you will not try, then how you will know? You cannot won in a lottery if you will not bet. There's no really harm in trying and in trying you start to chase your dreams. Perhaps, you readers would mock or laugh at me but it won't affect me. Why? Because if I didn't join I will regret it for the rest of my life. And I don't want it to happen. Damn it! I will only blame myself if that happens. It can't be denied that in that kind of competition, you must have both talent and luck. I might have the luck but do I have the talent? Do I have the X-Factor?
